To ensure fair access and manage AI processing infrastructure costs, daily food scan limits are applied based on your subscription tier (Trial: 5/day, Monthly: 10/day, Annual: 20/day). Scan usage data is logged to enforce these limits and is deleted when your account is deleted.
Your health data (meal logs, symptom tracking, gut health insights) is used exclusively to provide personalized insights and recommendations within the app. In accordance with Apple's and Google's guidelines, we do not use your health data for advertising, marketing, or data mining purposes. Your health information is never sold to third parties and is only used to directly benefit you.
To provide you with personalized insights, we utilize third-party Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning services. By opting in during onboarding, your health logs, dietary data, and symptoms are securely transmitted to these AI providers exclusively for processing your insights. We strictly ensure that your data is handled securely, is not retained long-term by these third parties, and is NEVER used to train public AI models.
Food images submitted for AI analysis are processed by Google Gemini API (Google LLC). Images are transmitted securely and are used solely to generate nutritional analysis results. We may share limited data with: (1) Service providers who help us operate the app (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics, subscription management via RevenueCat), who are bound by confidentiality agreements; (2) Legal authorities when required by law. Data is stored on servers located in the United States (Oregon). By using our service, you consent to the transfer of your data to the United States. We do not share your health data with advertising networks or data brokers. Any third parties we work with provide the same level of data protection as outlined in this policy.

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time through Profile > Personal Information or by contacting support. We will permanently and immediately delete your personal information from our active systems upon request. This process is irreversible. While your data is removed immediately from our primary databases, technical backups may persist for a short period before being automatically purged in the next backup cycle, except where retention is required by law.
You have the right to: access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, request data deletion, export your data, and withdraw consent for data collection. You can manage these preferences in your Profile settings or by contacting us directly.
Our website (gutivo.app) and web interfaces use minimal tracking for technical necessity.
